Sahih al-Bukhari 4023

It is related that Jubayr said, "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reciting Surat at-Tur in the Maghrib prayer, and that was the first time that belief settled in my heart."

Ishaq ibn Mansur related to me: ‘Abd ar-Razzaq related to us: Ma‘mar informed us, on the authority of az-Zuhri, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Jubayr, on the authority of his father Jubayr ibn Mut‘im, who said: I heard the Prophet recite during the prayer of sunset the surah The Mount (Q 52), and it was then that faith took root in my heart. On the authority of az-Zuhri, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut‘im, on the authority of his father Jubayr ibn Mut‘im, who said: Speaking of the captives of Badr, the Prophet said unto me: Had al-Mut‘im ibn ‘Adi been alive, and had he spoken to me on behalf of these soulless people, I would have indeed delivered them to him without ransom. Al-Layth said, on the authority of Yahya ibn Sa‘id, on the authority of Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyab, who said: When the first disaster of Islam took place, namely the murder of ‘Uthman, the Companions of Badr disappeared in its wake one after another. Then the second disaster took place, namely that of al-Harrah, and in its wake the Companions of Hudaybiyah also disappeared one after another. Then the third disaster took place; and it did not abate until the strength of the Muslim people was sapped.
