Tariq ibn Shihab related that Abu Bakr said to the delegation of Buzakha,* 'Follow the tails of the camels until Allah shows the khalif (successor) of His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the Muhajirun something by which you can excuse yourselves." [*Buzakha was either a place in Bahrayn or the water source of the Banu Asad and Ghatafan. They apostatised after the Prophet died and followed Tulayha al-Asadi who claimed to be a prophet. After defeating Musaylima, Khalid ibn al-Walid defeated them, and they repented and sent a delegation to Abu Bakr to excuse themselves.
