Sahih al-Bukhari 7267

Shu'ba related that Tawba al-'Anbari said, "Ash-Sha'bi said to me, 'Did you see? al-Hasan relating from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace? I stayed with Ibn 'Umar for about two years or one and a half years, but I did not hear him relate anything from the Prophet besides this. he said, 'One of the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, including Sa'd, were going to eat some meat and one of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, [i.e. Maymuna] called to the, "It is the meat of a lizard." They refrained. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Eat (or consume). It is lawful," - or he said, "There is nothing wrong with (Shu'ba was unsure of which), but it is not part of my food."'" Return to Contents Return to Home Page
